Work hand-in-hand with other members of the Senior Leadership Team and other business leaders to ensure coordinated support to drive key projects, new business opportunities and transactions, leveraging capabilities throughout the Company's businesses in the Asia Pacific (APAC) Region;
Work hand-in-hand with the global operational, compliance & regulatory teams and ensure delivery of legal, compliance services to the APAC Region;
Have extensive experience in the legal, tax and compliance regulatory regimes of a number of Asian countries including HK, China, Singapore and others.
Ensure that legal and compliance activities of the Group adhere to and adequately support the policies and enterprise strategies set by the Company;
Involvement in APAC regional issues management including the identification and management of emerging legal/regulatory/technical issues.
Experience and ability to lead M&A transactions including identification of targets, undertake negotiations, undertake due diligence, identify & establish appropriate operating and ownership structures and close the acquisition.
Control utilization of, and liaison with, outside counsel and other advisors to provide cost-effective legal and other services and ensure quality
Provide significant cross-functional collaboration with operational and functional leaders of the Company and the APAC Businesses including legal, compliance, tax, finance, treasury, risk management, labor and employment, IP, IT, litigation, EHS, corporate, and communications.
Travel: Less than 5% domestic and international travel as customary for the position.

JD/LLM, or foreign equivalent
8 years overall relevant experience as an International Legal Counsel, or in closely-related Director, Regional Director, Advisor, or General Counsel position, or closely related, particularly involving the APAC region.
In the above roles, 8 years’ experience in the following:
Collaborating with clients and/or partners in new international markets in the APAC region to analyze and expand new and/or existing businesses;
Identifying and advising on appropriate investment, trade, operational, and/or legal structures from a legal and tax perspective, regarding APAC countries;
In the above roles, 6 years’ experience in the following:
Strategic planning and successful implementation of international group restructuring, M&As, and corporate reconstructions.
Advising US Companies on the impact of tax, accounting and other regulatory and compliance provisions in APAC countries, particularly China, Australia, India, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Singapore;
Advising on the legal and commercial impact of international trade agreements like ASEAN Free Trade Agreement, China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement, Australia-Free Trade Agreement and other relevant agreements and protocols.
All experience may be gained concurrently.
